The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Tokyo is encouraging increased promotion of Indonesian creative and manufactured products in Japan by holding the Discover Indonesia Pop-up Store Japan Market at Hibiya Tokyo on December 22-26, 2025.
According to a press release from the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo received the pop-up store was held in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Trade and opened by the Chargé d'Affaires Ad Interim (KUAI) of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Maria Renata Hutagalung.
"As we enter 2026, the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo is collaborating with relevant parties to continue promoting Indonesian creative products in Japan. We also encourage Indonesian craft businesses to continue innovating by improving product quality and complying with Japanese regulations," said Maria.
Maria said the pop-up store featured 14 Indonesian creative brands, including accessories, leather bags, fashion, jewelry, and footwear, which had gone through a product curation and pitching process by the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo and the Ministry of Trade prior to the event.
"The concept of this promotion is that business owners can directly determine retail selling prices for Japanese consumers by following existing regulations," said Maria.
The KUAI also emphasized that the activity was not only part of introducing the variety of creative local Indonesian crafts to the Japanese public, but also helped market these products.
The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo also announced that the Indonesian brand MyCL, a producer of bags made from seaweed and mushroom leather, has signed an MoU with JR West for the use of staff lanyards, mushroom leather fashion collaborations, and MyLea algae pouches for green car shinkansen passengers .
According to the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, in addition to MyCL, the pop-up store also features Calla the Label, which displays fashion and ready-to-wear products, with a commitment to donate all sales proceeds to disaster relief in Sumatra.
