Deputy Chairperson of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rahayu Saraswati, visited the Indonesian Pavilion on the second day of Comic Con Singapore 2025 as a form of support for Indonesian comic creators and creative industry players who are appearing at the international event.
"I'm proud because the quality of the work of Indonesian comic artists and illustrators is on par with what we see in any bookstore in the world. Seeing a booth dedicated to Indonesian comics at an international event like this shows that we have great talent and strong IP to compete," he said in a press release received on Thursday.
During her visit, Saras personally observed the works of the comic artists in the Indonesian Pavilion. This year, the Indonesian Pavilion showcased 20 comic intellectual properties (IPs) from various genres, including six IPs facilitated by the Ministry of Creative Economy.
Indonesia also presents a number of popular comic IPs that already have a strong fan base, such as Si Juki, Tahilalats, and Bandits of Batavia.
