Indonesian women's national volleyball team coach Marcos Sugiyama praised the determination of Megawati Hangestri and her teammates in the opening match of the 2025 SEA Games.
In the first match of Pool B of the 2025 SEA Games at the Huamark Indoor Stadium, Bangkok, Wednesday, the Red and White squad beat Malaysia in three straight sets (25-12, 25-12, 25-16).
"This is the win we were targeting. The first match is usually filled with anxiety, expectation, and adapting to a team with limited information. Starting tomorrow, the players can be more relaxed and more precise in executing their strategies," said Marcos Sugiyama, as quoted by PBVSI on Wednesday.
The Japanese coach admitted that the Srikandi team had begun to understand the game system and patterns that suited his strategy during training.
