The Ministry of Communication and Digital is requesting public input and responses regarding the Draft Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Digital concerning the Indonesian Radio Frequency Spectrum Allocation Table.
Members of the public can submit input and responses regarding the draft regulation to the email addresses amal002@komdigi.go.id, fadz002@komdigi.go.id, aria001@komdigi.go.id, and lign001@komdigi.go.id until January 2, 2026, according to a ministry press release quoted on Tuesday.
Public consultation on the draft regulation on the Indonesian radio frequency spectrum allocation table was carried out in accordance with Law Number 12 of 2011 concerning the Formation of Legislation and its amendments.
According to Article 5 of Government Regulation Number 53 of 2000 concerning the Use of Radio Frequency Spectrum and Satellite Orbits, planning for the use of radio frequency spectrum is stated in the radio frequency spectrum allocation table determined by the minister.
The planning for the use of the radio frequency spectrum in question is in the form of allocating radio frequency bands for various types of radio services which are currently stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Indonesian Radio Frequency Spectrum Allocation Table.
According to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Indonesian Radio Frequency Spectrum Allocation Table needs to be replaced to align the planning of the use of the Indonesian radio frequency spectrum with the direction of national policy in the telecommunications sector and global technological developments.
Changes to the provisions also need to be made to align the regulations with the changes to the 2024 edition of the Radio Regulations produced at the World Radiocommunication Conference held by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Dubai in 2023.
The draft Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Digital includes provisions related to the allocation of Indonesia's radio frequency spectrum.
The draft regulation includes a table of radio frequency spectrum allocations, international footnotes, Indonesian footnotes, and the allocation of maritime service radio frequency channels for coastal radio station radiotelephony in Indonesian territory.
