Indonesian National 5s Hockey Team coach Dharma Raj instructed his players to give their all when facing host Thailand to secure a ticket to the 2025 SEA Games Thailand 5s Hockey final.
"Yes, we have no choice. Tomorrow is the deciding match. Therefore, I will instruct the Indonesian National 5s Hockey Team to give their all against the host nation, Thailand, in the semifinals," Dharma Raj said in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The Indonesian National 5s Hockey Team will face Thailand to secure a place in the final on Wednesday (10/12).
Raj said his team has a chance of winning the title if they can overcome Thailand. He acknowledged that Thailand is a tough opponent, but that doesn't mean victory is beyond his team's reach.
"Our target is to qualify for the final first," said the Malaysian coach.
Raj said it wouldn't be easy to beat Thailand, who also had ambitions of winning the title, especially with the full support of their home fans. However, he remains optimistic that his team can achieve their target of reaching the final.
"If they (the athletes) put on their best performance, God willing, they have a good chance. I say this because I fully understand their abilities," he said.
