The Indonesian U-16 futsal national team shifted its focus to the second match of the 2025 ASEAN U-16 Futsal Championship against Vietnam after starting the tournament by defeating Myanmar 4-2 in the opening match at Nonthaburi Hall, Thailand, on Tuesday.
U-16 national futsal team coach Reka Cahya Punthoadi said he was pleased with the victory, but he noted several evaluations of his players' performance in the first match.
Reka said that the shortcomings that occurred in the first match would be corrected so that his team could appear more solid against Vietnam, Wednesday (24/12).
"In the first 10 minutes of the first half, we struggled a bit to play the way we wanted. But despite that, 10 minutes later, and in the second half, the players were able to follow the coach's instructions and performed better," Reka said after the match, according to an audio recording received by ANTARA in Jakarta from the Indonesian national futsal team on Tuesday.
"Moving forward, I hope the players and everyone can work harder and achieve maximum results," he added.
Indonesia's four winning goals today were scored by Akmal Nasrur and Mahesa Aleandra who each scored one goal, as well as two goals from Muhammad Ibnu Alan.
This victory makes Indonesia top the preliminary round standings with three points from five participants.
