Tunisia's national team learns its opponent in the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

Tunisia continues its journey in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals, after drawing (1-1) with its Tanzanian counterpart in the match that brought them together today, Tuesday, in the third group of the tournament.

Tunisian Ismail Gharbi opened the scoring for the "Eagles of Carthage" from a penalty kick in the 43rd minute of the first half.

Tanzanian Faisal Salum scored the equalizer for his country in the 48th minute of the match, which took place at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in the capital, Rabat.

After this draw, the Tunisian national team raised its tally to 4 points and occupied second place in Group C, thus securing a place in the round of 16 of the tournament.

The Tunisian national team, nicknamed "The Eagles of Carthage", will face their Malian counterparts, who finished second in Group A, in the next round.

Tanzania also qualified for the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where they will meet the host, Morocco, the champion of Group A.
