The Indonesian Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) is optimistic about facing 2026 with adequate and timely state budget support after being freed from the threat of sanctions from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
IADO Chairman Gatot S Dewa Broto said the experience of 2025, when IADO was threatened with sanctions from WADA due to budget limitations and delays, provided an important lesson.
"If conditions like those of 2025 recur, the risks are enormous. With delayed or severely limited budgets, it will be difficult to avoid potential WADA sanctions," Gatot said in a written statement.
