The Egyptian national team succeeded in reaching the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals, from first place in Group B of the tournament hosted by Morocco from December 21 to January 18, 2026.
The Egyptian national team achieved two consecutive victories against Zimbabwe (2-1) and South Africa (1-0), in addition to a draw against their Angolan counterparts without goals in the match that brought them together on Monday evening, to sit atop the top of Group B with 7 points.
Egypt will be the leader of Group B in the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, awaiting the third-place finisher from one of the first, third or fourth groups out of the six groups, according to the tournament regulations.
