The two teams ended the match with a 1-1 draw. Hosts Persijap took the lead through Adzikry Fadlillah (51'), while PSIM equalized in the final minutes through substitute Riyatno Abiyoso (90+5').
"I'm not entirely satisfied with my team's performance because I believe we could have played much better. However, I must commend my substitutes, as I believe they positively changed the course of the match," said Van Gastel, as quoted on PSIM's official website.
