Young Indonesian racer Veda Ega Pratama admitted he is aiming for the Rookie of the Year title in his Moto3 debut in the 2026 season.
"If the target is, God willing, it can be Rookie of the Year, but I'm also learning at the same time because the team is new, the mechanics are new, everything is new," said Veda after meeting the Deputy Governor of DIY KGPAA Paku Alam X in Kepatihan.
Veda said his preparations for Moto3 so far have focused on physical training and adaptation, given the tighter competition in that class.
According to him, Moto3 demands stronger physical and mental readiness than the previous classes.
"The preparation is physical training, motorbike training as usual, and maybe mental training," said the racer from Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta Special Region.
Veda admitted that another challenge he would face in his debut Moto3 season would be the process of adapting to the characteristics of a completely new bike and team.
According to him, the difference between motorbikes is one aspect that needs to be learned gradually.
