West Bank: Injuries and arrests, including a young man with disabilities, during large-scale Israeli raids

Voice of Palestine radio reported that a young man was injured in the face as a result of an attack by Israeli soldiers following his arrest in the town of Masliya, south of Jenin, and published a picture showing his face covered in blood.

In the southern Hebron area, activist Osama Makhamra reported, in a statement distributed to journalists, that occupation soldiers detained Jihad al-Nawaj’ah, head of the Susya village council in the Masafer Yatta area, and assaulted him, causing a broken rib, before transferring him to a nearby medical center.

In the central West Bank, the official radio station reported that the Israeli occupation army shot a young man near the town of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, without providing further details.

Israeli forces also raided several cities and towns, including al-Bireh and Rammun in the Ramallah governorate, Hizma north of Jerusalem, al-Far'a refugee camp south of Tubas, Anza and Mithlon in Jenin, and the village of Sirra west of Nablus. The army deployed additional military reinforcements to the town of Qabatiya south of Jenin, where forces continued to raid homes, vandalize their contents, and carry out mass arrests, according to eyewitnesses.

In a related incident, Israeli occupation forces arrested Ramadan Jasser al-Deek, a young man with a disability, from the town of Kafr al-Deek, west of Salfit, on Wednesday evening, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA. This comes on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed on December 3rd, at a time when the occupation continues its violations against this group.

The West Bank has witnessed a marked escalation in Israeli operations in recent days, including the closure of town entrances, widespread searches, and arrests. Since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2013, Israeli attacks in the West Bank have resulted in the deaths of at least 1,087 Palestinians and injuries to nearly 11,000, in addition to the arrest of more than 21,000.
