The company's press service indicated that the new update brought with it a new feature that ensures the stability of the geolocation and route determination function while navigating, even in conditions of unstable satellite signals.
According to the company, the new feature, called "Step by Step," can be activated from a new separate button that appears to the user at the bottom of the screen after selecting the route of movement. With this feature, the map display remains stable regardless of the geographical location while using the application.
Yandex said in a statement on the subject: "We strive to improve the driving experience in Yandex Maps and the navigation app, and to make journeys predictable even in the event of a weak GPS signal. The new mode (instant switching) prevents location switching while driving and displays key road landmarks to enable users to continue driving comfortably during GPS service interruptions."
