A burning mentality is the main asset of the para-swimming team aiming for the 2025 APG medals.
Indonesian para-swimming team coach Agni Herarta stated that fighting spirit and a fiery mentality are the main assets for winning medals at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games (APG) Thailand on January 20-26.

He explained that with structured preparation and a focus on the top events, the team is optimistic about achieving its medal target of eight gold, six silver, and four bronze medals.

"Indonesia will compete in a number of events, including the 100-meter freestyle, 200-meter freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and other events, with classes dominated by S1 to S10," said Agni while leading team training at the Indonesian Paralympic Training Center (PPPI), Delingan, Karanganyar Regency.

He further explained that the Indonesian para-swimming team was strengthened by 28 athletes consisting of 19 men and nine women.

In general, the composition of athletes is divided into two groups, namely senior swimmers who are still performing and young swimmers who have received tiered training.

These young athletes are the result of monitoring and coaching by the Indonesian National Paralympic Committee  together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports  through the National Paralympic Week  and the National Student Paralympic Week .

The athletes, he continued, came from many of the islands of Sumatra, such as Riau and South Sumatra, Java, Papua, and Kalimantan.

This diversity of backgrounds is considered to enrich the team's character, while strengthening healthy internal competition.
