Indonesian mixed doubles pair Marwan Faza/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata are confirmed to be absent from two tournaments, namely the BWF World Tour Super 500 Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2026 and the Super 300 Thailand Masters 2026 due to eye health problems experienced by Marwan.
Indonesian mixed doubles coach Rionny Mainaky said the decision was taken to restore the condition of Faza's right eye, which experienced impaired vision after competing at the 2026 Malaysia Open last week.
"After the Malaysia Open, Faza's vision in his right eye became blurry and hazy. We decided to withdraw him from two tournaments to allow him to recover," Rionny said in an official PBSI statement .
Rionny explained that Faza had undergone medical examinations and procedures, and the doctor recommended that he rest temporarily until his condition improved.
PBSI doctor Dr. Hasna HM revealed that Faza began experiencing visual impairment while competing at the Malaysia Open.
"During the Malaysia Open, Faza complained of blurry vision in his right eye, to the point where he couldn't see with just one eye," said Dr. Hasna.
