Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has received an official invitation from Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) President Gianni Infantino to attend the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June to July.
The Presidential Media Team reported that the invitation was conveyed by Gianni Infantino during a meeting and discussion with President Prabowo on the sidelines of his attendance at the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF).
"Gianni Infantino also invited the President to witness the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the United States from June to July," read a statement from the President's Media Team.
During the meeting, the FIFA President outlined a number of strategic plans and ideas to encourage the progress and development of Indonesian football in the future.
In addition to meeting the FIFA President, President Prabowo also had the opportunity to discuss matters with French world football legend Zinedine Zidane.
The meeting was an important moment that President Prabowo Subianto uploaded on his personal social media account today.
The event which took place on Thursday (22/1) evening local time was also attended by President Prabowo's son, Ragowo Hediprasetyo Djojohadikusumo or who is familiarly called Didit.
In addition, Zinedine Zidane's son, Theo Zinedine, was also seen chatting with President Prabowo about Theo's career achievements at the age of 23.
Theo responded to the President's question by announcing that he is currently strengthening the Cordoba squad in the Spanish second division.
