At the WEF, Prabowo called CKG a rational program to save money.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto called the Free Health Check (CKG) program a rational policy designed to save the state budget in the long term.

"We are providing free health checks to all Indonesian citizens. This is not a populist program. This is a rational program to save money," Prabowo said during a speech at the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday, local time.

President Prabowo believes the Free Health Check program can reduce long-term medical costs through early disease detection.

With this step, the government can avoid much greater expenses due to treating the disease at an advanced stage.

Prabowo added that, based on expert studies, the Free Health Check program also has the potential to save the state budget up to billions of US dollars in the long term.

"My experts say that in the long run, we will save many, many billions of United States dollars," he said.

The Head of State stated that currently around 70 million Indonesian citizens have received the Free Health Check service and will receive this service once a year throughout their lives.

The CKG program will then be expanded to include all children and adults in Indonesia, so that all citizens have access to free health checks.

"By detecting diseases early, we will save significantly more on medical costs in the long run. This is essentially a productivity-boosting program," he said.
