Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has officially joined Girona, a Spanish League club also based in Catalonia, on loan until June 30, 2026.
Barcelona announced this in an official statement on the club's website on Wednesday. Along with the release, Barcelona also highlighted Ter Stegen's achievements with the club.
The German goalkeeper was brought in by Barcelona from German club Borussia Moenchengladbach in May 2014.
During his career at Barcelona, the 33-year-old helped the club win three trebles in one season under coach Luis Enrique in 2014/2015.
During his time at Barcelona, Ter Stegen won numerous trophies, including six La Liga titles, six Copa del Rey titles, four Spanish Super Cups, one UEFA Champions League title, one Spanish Super Cup title and one Club World Cup.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen is also recorded as the goalkeeper with the second most appearances for Barcelona (423 times), behind Victor Valdes (534 times).
