Lennart Karl, the young star of the German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich, who is only 17 years old, is happy that his game on the field is said to be similar to one of the most famous footballers in the world, Lionel Messi.
"Of course I'm happy to be compared to Messi," said Karl, quoted from the FIFA website.
However, Karl believes that he is not yet worthy of being considered to have Messi's qualities.
"Messi is way above. I still have a long way to go. However, Messi is indeed my role model," he said.
Like Messi, Lennart Karl is also a left-footed player. The attacking midfielder frequently changes direction while dribbling, confusing opponents.
Karl, who stands at around 1.68 meters tall, not far behind Messi at 1.7 meters, is considered above average in ball control. Like any top-class playmaker, Karl is always aware of the positioning of his teammates on the pitch.
Furthermore, Karl possesses a striking ability in the long-range shooting department. Goals from outside the box punctuate his career from the academy to the senior Bayern Munich team.
