Defensive midfielder Casemiro has announced he will leave Manchester United at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Quoted from the club's official website, Friday, Casemiro said he will remember Manchester United for the rest of his life.
"From the first day I stepped into this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love I share with our supporters for this special club," said Casemiro.
"This is not the time to say goodbye; there are still many memories to be made in the next four months," he said.
The player, whose full name is Carlos Henrique Casimiro, was brought in from Real Madrid by Manchester United in the summer of 2022 and immediately became a key pillar in the Red Devils' team.
During his time at Manchester United, Casemiro has made 146 appearances across various competitions, contributing 21 goals and 13 assists in 10,686 minutes of playing time.
He also played a key role in Manchester United's success in winning the 2022/2023 English League Cup and the 2023/2024 FA Cup.
This season, the 23-year-old player appeared in 21 matches in various competitions and contributed four goals and one assist from a total of 1,404 minutes of playing time.
"We still have a lot to fight for together; my full focus will always remain on giving my best to help our club achieve success," said Casemiro.
