Chelsea have officially announced the appointment of Liam Rosenior as the club's new head coach, after the 41-year-old signed a long-term contract until 2032.
Rosenior arrives at Stamford Bridge after 18 months in charge of Ligue 1 club Strasbourg, which is owned by BlueCo, the same organization that also controls Chelsea. He was appointed to replace Enzo Maresca, who was dismissed from his position on New Year's Day 2026, last Thursday.
"This is a club with a unique spirit and a long and proud history of winning trophies," Rosenior said, as quoted on Chelsea's official website on Tuesday.
"My job is to maintain that identity and build a team that reflects those values in every match we play, while continuing to win trophies. Being entrusted with this role means a lot to me, and I want to thank everyone for the opportunity and trust they have given me," he said.
Rosenior has admitted he will give everything to lead Chelsea to glory. The Blues currently sit fifth in the Premier League standings with 31 points.
They are winless in their last four league matches, with three draws and one loss. In their last match, they drew 1-1 with Manchester City. At that time, Chelsea was led by interim manager Calum McFarlane.
"I'm really excited to work with this incredibly talented group of players and staff, build strong relationships on and off the pitch, and create an environment where everyone feels united and driven by a common purpose," he said.
"I want the fans to be proud of who we are and what we represent in every game we play. They are the soul of this great, historic, and incredible football club," he added.
