Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said he cannot yet confirm Robert Lewandowski's future beyond next summer.
The statement raised questions about the Polish striker's long-term status at Camp Nou, especially after Barcelona's 5-0 victory over Athletic Club in the Spanish Super Cup.
"If you ask me about next season, I don't know. I'm happy with Lewandowski and what he's doing. He's at a good level," Flick told the Tribuna website on Thursday.
The big win in Jeddah took the Blaugrana to the Spanish Super Cup final.
However, the spotlight was focused on Lewandowski's absence from the starting lineup. The 37-year-old striker was a surprise substitute in the win over Athletic Club.
Flick rotated his squad, sparking speculation about Lewandowski's place in the Barcelona squad.
