Previously, news circulated on social media, stating that Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto, Ahmad Amiruddin, Zulkifli Syukur, and Ricardo Salampessy were the top candidates to become Herdman's assistant coach.
"Not yet," Sumardji said via text message on Thursday. "We're still preparing several names (of assistant coaches) with a vision for the future. John will make the selection."
During Patrick Kluivert's tenure, the Dutch coach did not employ any Indonesian coaches as his assistants. Kluivert's team consisted of Dutch coaches such as Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat.
