Forensic expert Dr. Alexi Richeton stated that the brain, despite its relatively small size, consumes at least a quarter of the amount of oxygen that a person breathes, making it an extremely sensitive organ

Dr. Rishton explained that one of the main conditions for the brain to function properly and perform its functions correctly is to supply it with high-quality oxygen.

He said: "Oxygen is transported throughout the body by hemoglobin in red blood cells, i.e., by the blood, and the brain is nourished through two main arteries. Therefore, it is very important to maintain the integrity of the blood vessels."

He added that blood flow to the brain is reduced due to atherosclerosis, which often develops in the arteries at the base of the brain and the carotid artery system as a result of plaque buildup. Smoking of all kinds, poor diet, fatty foods, and other well-studied risk factors all contribute to atherosclerosis.

He also pointed out that alcohol consumption is another factor, because it causes the meninges to deteriorate rapidly, and the development of fibrosis leads to impaired blood flow to certain areas of the cerebral cortex, which affects mental and psychological functions.

He added: “The brain also needs constant stimulation. If a person consumes information passively, such as by browsing short videos, the connections between neurons are damaged, or at least new connections are not formed. But if a person acquires new information, trains their memory, receives an education, learns languages, or engages in logical exercises, new connections are formed between neurons, and the brain’s resources increase.”
