Indonesian national futsal team coach Hector Souto admitted he is not rushing to think about the quarter-finals of the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup after his team secured their place in the second Group A match at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, on Thursday.
In the second match, Indonesia defeated Kyrgyzstan 5-3 to top Group A with six points and secure a place in the quarter-finals alongside Iraq, who are in second place with the same number of points.
Indonesia will face Thailand or Vietnam from Group B in the quarter-finals, but when asked by the media crew about their views on the match, their minds were only focused on the Group A title match against Iraq on Saturday (31/1).
"Do you know what I'll be thinking when I get to the hotel? Iraq. Iraq. Iraq. Iraq. Iraq. And after Iraq is over? The next one. The next one. The next one," Souto said at the mixed zone of the Indonesia Arena
"And after the next one is done? If we go home? Rest. If we don't go home? Next one. Next one. Next one," he said.
