Indonesian para-swimmer Januari said that her success in winning the gold medal at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand and breaking the tournament record was achieved thanks to her mother's prayers.
"Alhamdulillah, my mother's support and prayers are the most powerful thing that gave me the confidence to give my best," said Januari, as quoted from an official statement from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Januari won gold in the men's 200-meter freestyle S5 event at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games with a time of two minutes 49.83 seconds, surpassing Malaysian athlete M Nur Syaiful who won silver (two minutes 50.52 seconds) and Thailand's representative Phuchit Aingchaiyap who won bronze (two minutes 55.20 seconds).
