Persija and Indonesian national team player Jordi Amat revealed the contents of his conversation with Garuda coach John Herdman, whose coaching tenure was announced to the public on January 13.
"Regarding how I feel, I'm doing well at Persija. And, he said he wanted to come watch the derby (against Persib Bandung), but he postponed it. Some messages, he's very good. Hope to see each other as soon as possible," Jordi told reporters in the mixed zone of Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, after a 2-0 win over Madura United in the Super League match.
Jordi revealed that communication with the coach took place via WhatsApp.
Herdamn himself admitted to having communicated with around 60 national team players, including Jordi. Herdman stated that communication with Jordi had been ongoing since Christmas last year.
Jordi's statement confirms Herdman's statement at his introduction, when he said his communication with the national team players was not to discuss the targets he wanted to achieve with Indonesia, but to make an initial approach by greeting and introducing himself as the new coach of the Garuda team.
