Kevin Durant moved up to 10th in the NBA's top three-point shooters
Houston Rockets superstar Kevin Durant has achieved a historic milestone in the NBA, having climbed to 10th on the all-time list of all-time leading three-point shooters, surpassing legend Vince Carter.

The NBA website reported on Thursday that Durant set the record when the Rockets faced the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday afternoon WIB.

The historic three-pointer came in the first quarter, bringing the former Oklahoma City Thunder star's total to 2,291 points, one more than Carter.

In that game, Durant scored 24 points on eight of 17 field-goal attempts, including two three-pointers on four occasions.

However, the impressive performance and historic moment were not enough to bring the Rockets victory, after losing 99-111 to the Spurs.

According to NBA statistics, Durant achieved this record in just 1,166 NBA games.

Meanwhile, Carter collected 2,290 three-pointers over 22 seasons, with a total of 1,541 games throughout his career in the league.

Besides being among the elite long-range shooters, Durant is also known as an 11-time NBA All-Star and the winner of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the 2013-2014 season.

Above Durant, there is still active Philadelphia 76ers player Paul George with 2,414 points.

Durant is scheduled to return to action when the Rockets face the Atlanta Hawks on Friday (30/1) morning WIB.
