Legislators ask West Sumatra to immediately process the land acquisition for Sitinjau Lauik.
Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives from West Sumatra  Andre Rosiade asked the local provincial government to immediately complete land acquisition for the construction of the Sitinjau Lauik Flyover or Flyover connecting Padang City and Solok Regency.

"I ask the provincial government to be more serious about releasing the land," said Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, which oversees State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Andre Rosiade in Padang City.

Andre stated that the Sitinjau Lauik Flyover project, being carried out directly by PT Hutama Panorama Sitinjau Lauik (HPSL), the implementing business entity (BUP), is budget-ready. Unfortunately, the project is still hampered by land acquisition issues that overlap with the authority of the Ministry of Forestry.

"Now the problem is land acquisition, not at the National Road Agency or Hutama Karya," he said.

He warned that the Sitinjau Lauik project, which is estimated to cost up to Rp2.7 trillion and will take 2.5 years to complete, should not be hampered like the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road construction project.

Moreover, in the near future the provincial government will also release land for the continuation of the construction of the Padang-Pekanbaru Toll Road, Sicincin-Bukittinggi Section.

"I hope the West Sumatra Provincial Government will learn from the land acquisition issue for the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road," he said.

The Panorama I Flyover Project is expected to be a permanent solution to the extreme characteristics of Sitinjau Lauik, including steep slopes, sharp bends and disaster vulnerabilities that have been major obstacles to public mobility.

In addition to anticipating traffic accidents, the construction of this Rp2.793 trillion project is also intended to accelerate and facilitate the distribution of agricultural products and logistics from West Sumatra Province to various neighboring provinces.
