As reported by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account, quoted Thursday, Mateta informed Palace that he wanted to move in January, but emphasized that he did not want to anchor in the Saudi Arabian League.
"More on Jean Philippe Mateta and his plans after the exclusive news about his request to leave Palace," wrote Romano.
"Mateta has informed the club that he does not want to move to the Saudi Pro League. The plan is clear: the Premier League or Serie A," he added.
Aston Villa are reportedly interested in the French striker's services after losing Donyell Malen to AS Roma. Meanwhile, Juventus are rumored to be interested in bringing Mateta to Turin to bolster their attack.
