The European Golden Boot award witnesses a fierce battle each season between the top strikers, as it is awarded to the player who scores the most goals in the major European leagues.

The European Golden Boot award is based on a points system determined by the difficulty of each league, and a player's points are calculated by multiplying the number of goals scored in the league by specific factors for that league.

The highest-ranked leagues are the English Premier League, the Spanish League and the German League, 2.0, the middle-ranked leagues 1.5, and the lowest-ranked leagues 1.0.

French star Kylian Mbappe, the Real Madrid striker, won the Golden Boot award last season with 31 goals, achieving 62 points, ahead of Victor Gyukeris and Mohamed Salah.

Mbappe faces strong competition this season from several strikers, most notably Norwegian Erling Haaland, Manchester City striker, and Harry Kane, Bayern Munich striker. Mohamed Salah is far behind in the race so far, having scored only 4 goals in the English Premier League with Liverpool.
