Liverpool FC are close to bringing back one of their key players, who has a strong friendship with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, from AS Roma.
Liverpool has suffered this season from poor results and a decline in the level of its stars, especially in defense, and has failed to strengthen its ranks with defensive deals, which has prompted it to enter into negotiations with the Italian team to bring back its Greek defender.
According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Roma have already agreed to allow Konstantinos Tsimikas to return to Liverpool. Roma's sporting director said: "It's true, we are in negotiations with Liverpool regarding the player's return."
Konstantinos Tsimikas has played for Liverpool since his move in the summer of 2020 from Greek side Olympiacos, making 115 appearances and providing 18 assists. He left Liverpool at the start of the season for Italian club Roma on loan after the signing of Hungarian Milos Kerkiz last summer and the presence of veteran Scottish defender Andy Robertson.
During his loan spell with Roma, the Greek full-back participated in 16 matches across various competitions, playing only 672 minutes and managing to provide one assist. These numbers were not enough to convince the Italian club's coaching staff to keep him until the end of the season.
