Elon Musk invoked an old meme with Mark Zuckerberg, following reports of an investigation by US authorities into Meta.

American businessman and billionaire Elon Musk commented on reports that US authorities are investigating whether Meta has access to WhatsApp conversations, recalling an old meme with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Musk wrote on his X social media platform: “This reminds me of a classic meme,” adding a laughing emoji and attaching the meme image.

The image shows a boy sitting in front of a computer, looking towards Zuckerberg, who is standing to his right. The boy says to Zuckerberg, “My dad said you’re watching us,” to which the head of Meta replies, “He’s not your dad.”

Following reports of a US investigation into Meta, the billionaire encouraged users to switch to the XChat messaging app instead of WhatsApp.

It is worth noting that Bloomberg reported on January 25 that Meta was accused of fraud for gaining access to users' messages on its WhatsApp messaging application. According to the agency, a group of plaintiffs from Australia, Brazil, India, Mexico, and South Africa filed a lawsuit against Meta.

It is worth noting that Meta's activities, including its Facebook and Instagram platforms, have been banned in Russia for being considered extremist.
