Yooky Tjahrial, Chairman of the National Domino Sports Federation (Orado), emphasized his commitment to making dominoes a structured, professional, competitive sport free from the negative stigma that has long been associated with it in society.
Yooky said in Jakarta, Wednesday, that dominoes are often associated with gambling practices, even though this is not part of the system built by Orado.
"What is certain is that we at Orado do not gamble," said Yooky after the inauguration of the Provincial Management and the Orado National Declaration in Jakarta, Wednesday.
He explained that the domino tournament under the auspices of Orado was held like any other sport.
Yooky emphasized that Orado's primary focus isn't simply erasing the negative stigma, but rather elevating dominoes' standing as a respected sport. "The most important thing isn't just erasing the stigma. The most important thing is that we elevate dominoes," he said.
