Pacific Caesar Surabaya has set a target of qualifying for the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) playoffs, as the team's preparations are considered more mature, after only finishing ninth last season.
Pacific Caesar Surabaya coach Andika Supriadi Saputra said that to achieve this target, he made a number of adjustments, both in terms of player composition and the game system that will be implemented throughout the season.
"Our target is to reach the playoffs because we finished ninth last season," said Andika, known as Coach Bedu, after the team's introductory session in Surabaya, East Java, on Saturday.
He explained that the changes in player composition from the previous season meant the team needed to adapt accordingly, particularly in establishing game balance, both in attack and defense.
He also stated that Pacific Caesar will play at a faster tempo than last season, as the local players are considered to be much more prepared physically and in terms of understanding the system.
"This season will be a bit quicker because the local players are much more prepared," he said.
