Anadolu Agency's correspondent, citing eyewitnesses, reported that artillery shelled areas in the Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City (north). They added that Israeli artillery also targeted eastern areas of Khan Younis, within its controlled territory, but no casualties were reported.
According to witnesses, this shelling coincided with tanks and armored vehicles firing machine guns in the eastern areas of Khan Younis (south), Gaza City, and Jabalia (north). Israeli gunboats also fired toward the Gaza City coastline, though no injuries were reported, according to an Anadolu Agency correspondent.
In a related development, the Israeli army carried out a series of demolition operations within its areas of deployment in the northern and southern Gaza Strip. Eyewitnesses reported that the army demolished buildings and facilities in areas it controls east of Jabalia town in the evening.
Witnesses explained that the sounds of explosions resulting from the demolition operations were heard in several parts of the northern Gaza Strip, while plumes of smoke were seen rising from the areas where the explosions occurred.
In the southern Gaza Strip, witnesses reported hearing explosions resulting from demolition operations in areas east of Khan Younis city controlled by the Israeli army, while military vehicles fired their weapons towards citizens' homes in the area.
It is not known whether the explosions and shootings resulted in any Palestinian casualties or injuries.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli army killed a Palestinian child in a bombing east of Khan Younis, in an area from which the army withdrew under a ceasefire agreement.
In a related context, the sound of explosions resulting from the ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip overshadowed a mass inside the Church of the Holy Family, after a bombing disrupted the prayer amidst panic among the worshippers.
Father Gabriel Romani, from the Holy Family Church in Gaza City, posted on social media that a powerful explosion occurred on January 4th during Mass. He included a video showing the force of the blasts, which shattered windows as worshippers prayed.
Raids and arrests in the West Bank
In the occupied West Bank, the Israeli occupation army stormed several Palestinian towns on Tuesday evening, raided homes, and turned one of them into a military barracks
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA said that the army stormed the town of Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, in the northern West Bank, raided a number of houses in the town and turned one of them into a military barracks and interrogation center, and detained a number of citizens and interrogated them there.
The army also stormed the city of Tubas and the town of Aqaba, north of the city, “with several military vehicles, and began firing sound bombs inside them, and left without reporting any arrests,” according to the same source.
East of Nablus, the official Voice of Palestine radio station reported that Israeli forces arrested three young men after assaulting them near the Beit Furik junction. The army also raided the towns of Beita and Madama, south of Nablus, Ya'bad, west of Jenin, and the suburb of Iktaba, east of Tulkarm,  according to the same source.

In the central West Bank, the radio reported that clashes took place between young men and occupation forces in the town of Ni’lin, west of Ramallah, while the army stormed the town of Turmus Ayya, north of the city.

In the southern West Bank, eyewitnesses told Anadolu that the Israeli army stormed the town of Al-Dhahiriya, south of Hebron, and fired a barrage of gas and sound bombs in the town center.

As for the north of the city, eyewitnesses reported that clashes broke out in the town of Sa’ir after young men threw stones at an Israeli force that stormed the town, which responded by firing gas and sound bombs.

In a related context, Israel extended the ban on Sheikh Akrama Sabri, the preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, from traveling abroad until May 22, 2026.

A statement issued by Sabri's office on Tuesday evening said : "The office of the Israeli Minister of the Interior, by a decision signed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, issued a decision to extend the travel ban outside of Palestine against Sheikh Akrama Sabri (86 years old), the preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, until May 22, 2026."

He believed that this was "a new step from the highest levels within the ongoing series of violations against Sheikh Sabri."

Since the start of the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, the Israeli army and settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the martyrdom of 1,105 Palestinians, the injury of about 11,000, in addition to the arrest of more than 21,000.

The Israeli genocide, with American support, in Gaza left more than 71,000 martyrs and 171,000 wounded, most of them children and women, and destruction that affected about 90 percent of the civilian infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at about $70
