The Indonesian Internet Domain Name Manager (PANDI) recorded that the number of registered .id domain names reached 1,431,865 by the end of 2025, exceeding the annual target of 1.35 million domains.
PANDI Chairman John Sihar Simanjuntak said this achievement places Indonesia as the largest country-level domain or country code top-level domain (ccTLD) manager in the Southeast Asia region.
" The increase in the number of .id domain names shows that Indonesians are increasingly trusting the .id domain," said John at a press conference presenting PANDI's performance report .
He explained that the .id domain market share in Indonesia reached 58 percent as of July 2025.
This figure exceeds the use of global domains such as .com, which is around 34 percent, while the rest is dominated by other generic domains.
According to John, this growth has been consistent over the past few years. In 2021–2022, .id domain growth was recorded at 36.38 percent, increasing to 58 percent by 2025, in line with various marketing and education programs implemented in collaboration with registrars.
