Francesco Pio Esposito's single goal led Inter Milan to a narrow 1-0 victory over Lecce in the postponed match of the 16th week of the Italian League at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Milan, Wednesday local time.
In this match, Pio Esposito was able to score the winning goal for Inter Milan over Lecce when the match entered the 78th minute, according to Serie A records.
Thanks to this victory, Inter Milan remains comfortably in first place in the Italian League standings with 46 points from 20 matches, six points ahead of AC Milan in second place.
On the other hand, the defeat means Lecce has not moved from 17th place in the Italian League standings with 17 points from 20 matches, only three points above the relegation zone.
Inter immediately displayed an attacking game when the match started and had a chance in the sixth minute through Ange-Yoan Bonny's shot which was still blocked by Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone.
Inter then managed to create another chance when the match entered the second half in the 51st minute through Nicolo Barella's header, but it was again saved by Falcone.
Lecce had a chance to turn things around and threaten through Antonino Gallo's individual effort, but his shot was saved by Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Lautaro Martinez had a chance to put Inter ahead with a shot, but Falcone again prevented the ball from going into the net.
However, Falcone's rebound was immediately pounced on by Francesco Pio Esposito who managed to score a goal, making the score 1-0 in the 78th minute.
