Quoted from a press release received on Thursday, one of the main updates in version 4.2 is the presence of the Primewood Genesis themed mode.
This mode brings changes to the battlefield through the power of Primewood which gives rise to tainted flora and mystical elements in several maps, such as Erangel, Livik, and Sanhok.
In this mode, urban areas such as Hospital, Pochinki, Sosnovka Military Base, Yasnaya Polyana, and Mylta are revamped with the addition of new environmental elements.
Infected plants appear in urban areas and can be defeated to unlock chests containing supplies. Players can also access the Corrupting Swamp to purify the area from Primewood's influence.
On the Erangel and Livik maps, players can interact with Barkle, a treant-like guardian who assists in combat and rescue.
Throughout the game, planted Buds will grow into Fruits that can be fought over for supplies or to summon Barkle. The Primewood refining process unlocks new items like Targeting Vines and the Bramblewood Scorpion vehicle.
Targeting Vines allows players to create temporary shields and control the vines to hold off enemies or vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Bramblewood Scorpion is a leaf-based vehicle that can carry two players, has the ability to dig for temporary cover, and is equipped with a special attack.
