Indonesian women's singles player Putri Kusuma Wardani is considering the 2026 Malaysia Open as a platform to test her game readiness after the inter-season break.
Putri admitted that she had only just returned to full training intensity after taking a break following the 2025 World Tour Finals.
His main focus at the tournament at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on January 6-11 was to restore his physical condition and playing touch.
"The coach gave me a few days off, and thank God, I'm fresh again now," Putri said in an official statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) on Sunday.
According to Putri, preparations for the Malaysia Open took around 10 days, initially focusing on physical strengthening before moving on to technical training.
"Physical training is the focus, and the training has been intensified. The last two days have focused more on technique," he said.
Starting the season with the Super 1000 tournament, Putri chose not to set excessive targets.
