Registration for the inaugural edition of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Masters Open 2026, to be held in the Attica and Corinth regions of Greece from July 4-12, has officially opened.
The FIBA website stated that the international event is open to the global basketball community aged 40 and above.
The event features 5x5 and 3x3 basketball competitions, with a sports festival concept that combines tournaments, moments of friendship between countries, and cultural exchange.
Organizers said the event was not limited to former professional players or national team players.
The main requirement for participation is the age of the participants, and each country is allowed to send more than one team.
The inaugural edition of the FIBA Masters Open was organized in partnership with the Greek Basketball Federation, and received support from the Regional Governments of Attica and Corinth.
Participants will compete in a number of world-class indoor arenas , supported by experienced match equipment.
In addition to the tournament, participants are also offered non-competition experiences, such as cultural tours, beach recreation, and typical Greek hospitality.
The committee aims to create a festival atmosphere that celebrates the love of basketball across ages and backgrounds.
Global enthusiasm for this event is high. To date, 190 teams have pre-registered.
The committee applies a first-come, first-served registration system with a limited quota.
Registration will close at the end of April 2026. Meanwhile, early bird rates are available until February 28, 2026.
Each registered team will also donate 100 euros to the FIBA Foundation, as part of its social and sports heritage program.
