Russia says it is willing to restore diplomatic relations with Europe

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that Moscow was ready to restore relations with European countries.

I would like to believe that over time the situation will change and our countries will return to normal and constructive communication, based on the principles of respecting national interests and taking into account legitimate security concerns.

Russia is committed to and remains committed to these approaches and is ready to restore the level of relations we need, Vladimir Putin said.

On Thursday, ambassadors from 33 countries presented their credentials to the Russian head of state during a ceremony in the Kremlin.

The envoys come from the following countries: Slovakia, Slovenia, Somalia, Gabon, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Rwanda, Czech Republic, Mauritania, Afghanistan, Algeria, Portugal, Bangladesh, Brazil, Norway, Sweden, Egypt, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Namibia, Austria, Cuba, Pakistan, Israel, Korea, Peru, Uruguay, Lebanon, Switzerland, Iraq, Italy, Maldives.
