The Ministry of Communication and Digital has opened public consultations on the Draft Ministerial Regulation (RPM) on the Smart City Approach as a follow-up to the mandate of Article 64 paragraph (2) of Government Regulation Number 59 of 2022 concerning Urban Areas.
"Article 64 paragraph (2) of Government Regulation Number 59 of 2022 concerning Urban Areas mandates the Ministry of Communication and Information to establish a Ministerial Regulation regarding the smart city approach that is guided by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI)," wrote the Ministry of Communication and Information in its statement.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs stated that the drafting of the RPM is intended to provide guidelines for regional governments in managing districts and cities sustainably through the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and other technologies, in order to realize a better life for the community through innovation and collaboration.
Meanwhile, the aim of compiling the Smart City Approach RPM is to provide strategic policies that serve as guidelines for local governments in implementing Smart Cities.
