The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) has donated Rp10.36 billion in fitness and sports science equipment to the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) as part of its efforts to improve national badminton performance and as part of preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Gunawan Suswantoro, stated that the assistance represents government support for priority sports deemed to have a high potential for success at the Olympics.
"The government consistently supports PBSI and other priority sports. PBSI has great potential to achieve Olympic success. We consistently provide assistance with facilities and infrastructure," said Gunawan during the handover ceremony at the PBSI National Training Center in Cipayung,
Gunawan hopes that the fitness equipment provided can be optimally utilized by athletes to support improved performance, especially in the lead-up to the 2028 Olympics.
"The message from the Minister and the President is that in 2028 we must achieve success by winning gold," he said.
