New Indonesian national team coach John Herdman revealed that a clear vision, quality players and a very fanatical football fan base were the reasons he chose the Garuda team over two other countries, Jamaica and Honduras. At his official introductory press conference at the Mulia Hotel in Jakarta on Tuesday, he stated that his interest in choosing Indonesia was because the country was the right place for him, as it had a clear vision, quality players, and a very fanatical football fan base.
"I've worked in CONCACAF, and I have experience there. But I believe in a country with a population of 280 million, 90 percent of whom love football. They really love football. This is the right place," Herdman said.
