Game publisher Ubisoft has canceled six game development projects, including plans for a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, as part of a restructuring move to remain competitive in the global games market.
As reported by The Guardian on Thursday, the French company announced a comprehensive reorganization that included the cancellation of six game titles and the postponement of seven other projects.
The announcement had an immediate impact on the market, with Ubisoft shares plummeting by a third and hitting their lowest point since 2011. The company's value dropped to around 590 million euros, well below its peak of over 10 billion euros a decade earlier.
