West Bank: Palestinians injured in attacks by the occupation and settlers, and the construction of mobile homes continues in the "Sanur" settlement.
The Palestinian Red Crescent stated in a statement that "its crews dealt with 6 injuries from tear gas, which was fired by the Israeli army during the storming of the city of Al-Bireh, and provided them with field treatment."
In the southern West Bank, the Red Crescent stated in a previous statement on Thursday that a Palestinian was shot in the foot by the Israeli army in the town of Dura, south of Hebron, and that the army delayed the arrival of its crews to the injured young man before allowing them to transfer him to a nearby hospital.
Al-Hilal added that its crews also dealt with the injury of another young man, as a result of the Israeli army assaulting him in the same town.
Local sources told Anadolu that the Israeli army stormed the center of Dura town, firing live ammunition, stun grenades and tear gas, and confiscated a citizen's vehicle.
This comes as the Israeli army continues, since Monday, a military operation in the city of Hebron, which it announced in a previous statement would "continue for several days with the participation of the Shin Bet (General Security Service) and the Border Guard."
In a related incident, two Palestinians sustained bruises on Thursday evening after being assaulted by settlers in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.
Qusra Deputy Mayor Abdul-Munim Hassan told Anadolu Agency that a group of settlers stormed the western part of the town and attacked homes with stones, injuring two young men who were trying to defend themselves. He explained that one of the young men was taken to a hospital for treatment, while the other was transported to a nearby medical center in the town. He
added that on Wednesday, settlers erected two tents in the Ras al-Ain area, west of Qusra, despite it being located in Area B, which is under Palestinian administrative control. He further stated that the erection of the tents and the settlers' presence in that area effectively besiege the town from all four sides, following the establishment of settlements on the other three sides in recent years.
In a related development, the Israeli army continued on Thursday to install mobile homes (caravans) in the town of Sanur, south of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank, following the Netanyahu government's approval to rebuild a settlement on the site that was evacuated in 2005.
Local sources indicated that Israeli machinery was working around the clock to prepare the area for the establishment of a settlement and a military outpost. The sources noted that mobile homes and a concrete wall had been erected around them.
They also pointed out that the Israeli army had notified the owners of several Palestinian homes located near the settlement that they must evacuate in preparation for taking control of the area.
In 2005, Israel implemented a unilateral disengagement plan, under which it evacuated settlements and army bases in the Gaza Strip and four settlements in the northern West Bank: Ganim, Kadim, Homesh, and Sanur. However, the Netanyahu government subsequently decided to allow settlers to return to these four settlements in the northern West Bank.
On May 30, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz visited the site and announced the return of Israeli forces, while the government declared its transformation into a settlement.

The Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported last December that the return of settlers would begin in conjunction with the Jewish holiday of Purim in early March 2026, noting that the decision had been made about two weeks prior after consultations with the army.

According to estimates by the Israeli left-wing organization Peace Now, the number of settlers in the West Bank exceeds half a million, in addition to more than 250,000 in settlements built on land in East Jerusalem.

Since launching its two-year war of extermination on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, Israel, through its army and settlers, has intensified its attacks in the West Bank, including killing, arrest, displacement and settlement expansion, in a course that Palestinians warn is paving the way for the annexation of the West Bank to Israel.

This resulted in the martyrdom of more than 1,100 Palestinians, the injury of about 11,000 others, in addition to the arrest of more than 21,000, according to official Palestinian data.
