WhatsApp launches feature to protect users from cyber attacks
Meta is introducing a new security feature on WhatsApp called Strict Account Settings, which is designed to improve user protection from cyberattacks.

As reported by Tech Crunch on Wednesday, this feature adds a number of protections, including automatically blocking files and attachments from unknown senders and muting calls from unsaved numbers.

Additionally, link previews are disabled and a system for blocking large numbers of messages from unknown parties is also enabled.

When this option is turned on, two-step verification will be automatically activated along with a security notification that notifies the user if the security code of the contact they are communicating with changes.

WhatsApp also limits the visibility of “ last seen ” status, online status, profile photo, and “ about ” information to only the user’s contacts.
