Social media platform X announced a policy change regarding the image editing capabilities of its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Grok by preventing Grok accounts from editing photos of people in revealing clothing such as bikinis.
the restrictions apply to all users, both paying and unpaid. The policy follows criticism of X and Grok in recent weeks over alleged non-consensual creation of sexually explicit images, including those involving children.
In an announcement shared via the official @Safety account, X also stated that Grok's image creation feature is now only accessible to subscribed users, so free service users will no longer be able to create images via the chatbot.
Additionally, the company implements a block on the creation of images of individuals in clothing such as bikinis, underwear, or other revealing clothing in countries where such practices are legally prohibited.
