As reported by Gizmochina on Thursday, based on data from the International Data Corporation (IDC), Huawei controlled a market share of 16.4 percent with shipments of 46.7 million units, or slightly higher than Apple which achieved 16.2 percent.
This revival comes after years of Huawei being under pressure from US sanctions and marks a significant shift in the world's largest smartphone market.
